Late last year we were retained by Paslode to help them launch their new line of Cordless Framing Nailers. After spending some time with contractors and carpenters we were able to learn what their needs were and what challenges they face. These following images are tradeshow posters we produced to launch the product line. Radio spots were played on sports radio networks in Boston and Philadelphia.

My brand spankin’ new site…

I’ve been putting this site together for a while now and I’ve come to a realization:

This is going to take forever.

Between work, my son, my dog, trying to sell a house and Simpsons reruns, I just don’t have the time to devote to this! To make matters worse, Fox airs reruns of The Office at 7:30pm and 11pm. When am I ever going to find time to do this? (Just kidding…sorta.)

Anyway, the other day I was at a photo shoot and overheard a guy talking about putting together his portfolio and how easy it was to get online. The whole conversation really got on my nerves for two reasons.

1. The person in question was a young, single, guy with no kids and no real responsibilities other than to try and not look hung over at work and to maintain his perpetual 5 o’clock shadow.
2. I heard him say, “I don’t own a TV.”

Is it just me, or are people who say they don’t own a television or watch TV really creepy? When they say things, “I have more important things to do with my time than watch TV” do they assume I think he/she is a smart, worldly sage who should be revered for his/her wisdom and insight?

F&@k no!!! The first thing that pops into my mind when I meet one of these people is Buffalo Bill from The Silence of the Lambs.

Perhaps this guy’s TV was broken. Perhaps he just moved and needs to buy a new one. The fact remains, he said “I don’t a TV”. Now I can’t help but think he has a congresswoman’s daughter holed up in his basement and is making a lamp shade out of his girlfriend.

Wow. I guess I kinda’ got off track. I needed to vent about that though. It’s been brewing inside me for a couple of days.

Anywho, I still have some more work to post and some other work to replace. I’m still trying to figure out how to get flash files to play in my posts. If anyone knows how to accomplish this task gimme’ a shout. Stay tuned!

C’mom O! Shouldn’t you know your guests?

Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past 25 years, you know that Oprah is the queen of day time TV. The woman has had everyone from the president of the United States to bisexual midget strippers on her program. So don’t you think she should have learned a thing or two about studying her guests before they sit on her couch? Even casual football fans know about Super Bowl MVP Drew Brees’ birthmark on his right cheek. Check out O as she tries to brush it off. (Ugh. Next time look at the 8.5×11 glossy of your guest, O!)

After briefly retiring the bulldog from their marketing efforts, Mack wanted to reintroduce him to their audience. This Web site was supposed to launch shortly before the Westminster Kennel Club dog show. PR and social media efforts would help spread the word.

Working with client’s such as GGB Plain Bearings, I’m constantly being told engineers only respond to boring long-copy ads with tons of technical info. (Luckily, GGB knows better.) National Penn ValuePlus Checking

Last year National Penn came to swb&r and asked us to develop a campaign for their ValuePlus Checking account. This account is their premier checking account and features ID theft protection, complimentary companion airfare tickets, interest rate discounts and more. In short, it gives you super powered financial abilities.

We created the ValueMan character to tell consumers about these benefits. We also created ads, radio spots, posters, envelope stickers and merchandising kits for the bank’s branches. We even developed a comic/coloring book to give kids who pull into the drive-through lane with their parents. In just eight months, this campaign exceeded National Penn’s sales goals by 224%!
